Claudette Colbert: Jazz Up Your Lingerie

A cute clip from one of Claudette's early films, 'Smiling Lieutenant'. Directed by the comedy genius Ernest Lubitsch, Claudette co-stars as the musician the girlfriend of Maurice Chevalier's character of an unfortunate soldier who is later tricked into marrying the Princess of Flausenthurm, played by Miriam Hopkins. Franzi (Claudette) later realises that it is wrong to remain with the Lieutenant and leaves the illicit relationship, but not before giving some much needed advice to his wife. 'Jazz Up Your Lingerie' is a sweet song, with Franzi showing Miriam's character how to dress up for her husband.
